I hate my phone so much I’m gonna sell it on eBay!
A few months ago I renewed my cell phone contract and got a new Razr V3xx. At first it seemed fine except everyone complained that when I used a bluetooth connection it was horrible. Then I started getting complaints about the quality even without bluetooth.
I finally took it in but was told it was beyond the amount of time the AT&T store would do anything with, so I had to send it in for replacement under warranty. The new phone came and seemed fine at first, but lately it’s been locking up. I flip it open and instead of seeing my background, I get a black screen. Usually I can shut it off, then turn it back on and it’s OK. Tonight it wouldn’t respond to the power button. I took out the battery, replaced it, then powered it on and it seems fine.
Is this what I can expect from a $200 phone? I’ve not heard anyone else complaining about the RAZR’s being unreliable. I don’t drop my phone, I don’t treat it rough in any way. It still looks brand new.
I guess I’m going to have to replace the damned thing. I was considering a Treo or some other smart phone, but they’re just so big and clunky that I’m afraid I’d get to hating it rather quickly. Besides, I usually use the phone without bluetooth and it just doesn’t look like a phone. People would be laughing at me… “Hey! That guy is listening to his PDA!”
Maybe I should just buy the cheapest phone I can find and consider it disposable - something to be replaced every 6 months.
